FOSS4G Reminder
2006-06-27 05:11 | Permanent Link | Locative, Open SourceThe abstract submission deadline for the FOSS4G Free and Open Source Software for Geomatics conference is coming up! While the title may be new, this conference is one of a longstanding series of conferences, all of which have been outstanding. Final registration is open, and abstracts are due June 30. The conference is in Lausanne, Switzerland from the 12th-15th of September, 2006.
FOSS4G2006 is a combination of the GRASS, OSG and EOGEO conferences and workshops. Last year's conference in Minneapolis was an amazing gathering of some of the biggest names in Free and Open Source geospatial software.
The conference will be a gathering place where you can meet many other people you likely only know via email, exchange ideas, attend workshops, give demos of your latest work, and enjoy a little bit of the good life in Switzerland.
Don't be shy about speaking at the conference. Submitting an abstract consists of writing up a paragraph or two about your work, and your presentation can be quite informal.
If you don't see your favorite topic on the registration page, make one up and submit it in the comments section.
I look forward to seeing a lot of you there!
